As if things are not bad enough right now for the 0-2 Eagles, their best playmaker on offense Brian Westbrook, had his  injured knee re-examined by the Eagles medical staff and underwent an MRI Wednesday. Right now the injury is being called a “strain”, but the fact that the back has had a history of knee issues makes it a concern. Westbrook didn’t practice Wednesday, and his status for this weekends game at home vs the Lions is very much up in the air.

Also missing practice Wednesday were tackle William Thomas, who left Monday’s game with back spasms, tight end L.J. Smith, who is dealing with a nagging groin injury, and safety Sean Considine, who suffered a knee contusion. Cornerback Lito Sheppard, who missed the game against the Redskins with an MCL sprain, continued to sit out.
