Osi Umenyiora recorded six of the Giants’ NFL record-tying 12 sacks as the Giants stifled the Eagles 16-3 at the Meadowlands. Eli Manning finished 14-of-26 for 135 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown to Plaxico Burress in the first quarter, as New York evened its record at 2-and-2. Kawika Mitchell returned a fumble 16 yards for a third-quarter score as the G-Men opened a 16-0 advantage. David Akers’ 53-yard field goal early in the fourth was all the offense for Philadelphia, which fell to 1-and-3. Donovan McNabb completed 15-of-31 passes for 138 yards in defeat. He also fumbled three times under constant pressure. Correll Buckhalter ran 17 times for 103 yards in the setback.
