Eagles Cut McCoy

The Eagles released linebacker Matt McCoy Monday and signed linebacker Akeem Jordan from the practice squad.  McCoy, a second-round draft pick two years ago, started 10 games last season, but was eventually replaced by Omar Gaither.  The move came a day after McCoy, playing on special teams, unnecessarily leveled Vikings punter Chris Kluwe which drew a 15-yard penalty.  Veteran safety Brian Dawkins, who was shown on television during the game visibly upset with McCoy for the play, said coach Andy Reid sent a message by releasing the young linebacker.
