Eagles tight end Brent Celek had surgery today to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Celek played in all 16 games this season, catching 16 passes for 178 yards and one score. He may be called on a heck of a lot more in 2008 if L.J. Smith moves elsewhere. There is no timetable for Celek’s return. The team also signed wide receiver Jamal Jones and defensive ends Xzavie Jackson and A.J. Schable to multiyear contracts today. Jones played in 14 games with the Saints in 2006, grabbing six balls for 108 yards and one score. Schable was in 11 games for Arizona as a DE and fullback back in 2006.
