Rumors Have the Eagles Allowing Sheppard to Seek a Trade

It looks as if the Eagles are going to allow corner Lito Sheppard to look for work elsewhere. John Clayton of ESPN and NJ.com is reporting that the Eagles have given Sheppard’s agent permission to “shop his services.” Word going around is that Sheppard is not pleased with his contract, which he signed four seasons ago that was for 8-years, for a total of $36.7 million.
Sheppard is looking around the league and seeing corners get big, and I means BIG money. Nate Clements being the obvious example from a season ago, and just wait for two weeks to see what the Pats Asante Samuel gets on the open market. One issue with Sheppard he had better remember is his history of injuries. He has missed 6, 3, and 5 games in 2005, 2007, and 2007 and has played one full season in his 6-year career. It will be interesting to see if there are any takers for the corners services.
