Eagles Return to WIP 610

The Eagles announced Wednesday a long-term extension of their broadcast partnership with CBS Radio. In addition to the award-winning game coverage on 94WYSP-FM, the partnership will expand with game simulcasts on 610 WIP-AM that allows more fans than ever before to tune into the Eagles Radio Network.

This is exciting news for long time Birds fans.  In the late 1960s and early 1970s there was no home TV coverage of Eagles games.  You could get the Eagles on the road but all home games, even sellouts were blocked.  It was during this time that many die-hard fans listened to games on radio only, with the excellent voice of the late Charlie Swift doing the play by play on mostly 610.

Though unlikely, there may be some folks out there at home or work who can more easily get the games on the AM dial, this of course will help them. It just feels right, like returning to an old hangout that you remember as fun.
