Another Big Deal - Birds Land DE Chris Clemons
Posted by Matt Loede on March 1st, 2008 filed in NewsOne day after grabbing free agent corner Asante Samuel, the Eagles hit another big homer today as they signed defensive end Chris Clemons to a five-year deal. Last season with the Raiders, Clemons had eight sacks in a reserve role. He will rotate with end Trent Cole, Juqua Thomas and Victor Abiamiri. The 26-year-old started with the Skins back in 2003 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Georgia. He had five sacks in 20 games with the Redskins between 2004 and 2005. He did not play in 06 with a knee injury. “I’ve always had it in me,” Clemons said. “I just had a couple bad breaks. When I got my opportunity, it all came together.”
