Another Andy Reid Draft

This was a typical Andy Reid draft for the following reasons:
1) Grabbed guys he could plug in, instead of game changers
2) Used a high pick on a defensive tackle who’s better at making plays in space than he is at stuffing blockers at the line of scrimmage
3) Drafted a 1-aa player who’s lack of size made it questionable as to whether or not he will contribute at the next level……a 228 lb defensive end who nobody knows for sure what position he will play…..olb or pass rush specialist de. Can we say Chris Gocong?
4) Didn’t draft a true linebacker in the top 3 rounds…as usual, because Andy seems to think that any bottom of the bench player could fit in at LB in a pinch
5) He played it safe by trading away the picks for multiple selections.
6) Didn’t draft a between the tackles running back.
7) He traded for a RB, Booker, who is not a typical between the tackles back….more the type of back that is effective in a pass happy offense.
I will say this about his draft….so far, in the first 4 rounds, this is one of the better jobs Reid has done. He nabbed a lineman in the 4th who can contribute in at least 3 positions on the offensive line, and probably will end up starting for us. He finally grabbed a wideout who has a little bit of quickness. Haven’t seen much of the FS they drafted yet, but it looks like he has good deep coverage ability for a safety. He traded a pick for a RB who can flat out play, giving us insurance if Westbrook becomes injured. He also got that extra 1st round pick for next year. Definitly one of his better drafts regardless of what happens in the last couple rounds.

That is a pretty good description of a Reid draft. Another OK Lineman from Notre Dame, A pop-warner sized Wide out, who may be difference maker or who may never make it off the jam. What I don’t understand is how you take an injured CB, A 220lb DE from division 2, A DE from Wheaton who wouldn’t even been drafted if it weren’t for youtube and a lazy OT King who got benched in the middle of his senior campaign at Auburn.
