All Phases Combine for an Amazing 4th Quarter in SF

The Eagles were bailed out on Sunday with a 23-point fourth quarter that was one for the ages. The defense stepped up when they had to, and Donovan McNabb and the offense did what it had to do to get the job done. It would be easy to cry and whine about the team getting down by 9 points with about 18 minutes left, but out west where it’s tough to win it was good to see the team rebound.

Consider that the team forced three turnovers in the fourth quarter, and scored on all three. They also had two drives that covered 63 and 31 yards that ended with a TD and field goal. The defense put a beating on Niners QB J.T. O’Sullivan, to the tune of forcing him to look like an arena league QB trying to play the pro game. They held the Niners to negative two yards in the quarter.

The team also announced on their site today that Brian Westbrook is making progress, and could be back next Monday when the team comes off the bye and gets set for the October 26th home game against the Falcons, a team that suddenly is looking like a player in the NFC.

For now, they will breathe a sigh of relief over what was an amazing last quarter, and hope they can carry that momentum with them in two weeks vs the birds at home.
