With former Philly offensive coordinator Jon Gruden available and an unprecedented number of quarterbacks poised to become available in free agency, the Eagles have moved quickly to short-circuit any speculation regarding the possibility of dramatic change.
Team president Joe Banner issued a statement through a team spokesman stating that coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb will be back next year.
The question is whether McNabb wants to be back. With the sense that he’s one missed trip to the playoffs away from being dumped by the Eagles, McNabb might be inclined to utter the time-honored phrase, “I am breaking up with you.”

This is great, according to the Washington Post Donovan is done in Philly. He doesn’t want to come back. Eagles fans may have finally broken his spirit.
