It’s going to be a long offseason for Eagles offensive tackle Jon Runyan, as the possible free agent to be has undergone microfracture surgery on his right knee that will take four to six months of recovery time, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
The 35-year-old Runyan was looking forward to being a free agent, but now with the surgery, many teams may take a pass on him as even though the surgery was supposed to me just minor, after an exam more significant damage was revealed.
Reports say that with rehab, Runyan should be ready by next season, but you never can tell. “I think there’s enough of a track record out there that it’s not going to totally kill me,” Runyan told the Daily News’ Les Bowen. “The doctor says I should be as good as new. But I’m not going to be able to prove it until time to play.”
