On July 28, 2009, Philadelphia lost an icon. Jim Johnson, defensive coordinator for Philadelphia’s most beloved football team, passed away at the age of 68 from a cancerous tumor on his spine. Known for his blitz-heavy exotic defenses and no-nonsense coaching, Jim Johnson was long-considered one of the top defensive minds throughout his 22 years in the league. Often called a genius, innovator, and mentor, above all, Jim Johnson was beloved; by coaches, players and football fans both in Philly and throughout the league.
We honor Jim Johnson with the “Bring One In for Jim” t-shirt. Depicting an eagle clutching a championship ring, this shirt boldly affirms the mission of this upcoming football season: Bring home the championship to honor the passing of Philadelphia’s legendary defensive coordinator. Having never won a championship as a coach, we now must win in his memory.
Today, we are giving away two of these excellent t-shirts! All you have to do is Subscribe to our E-mail RSS Feed, by entering your e-mail address in the box on the left of the screen. We will pick two winners on Thursday evening.
If you can’t wait, you can always order one at http://www.bringoneinforjim.com/. The shirts are just $20, and a portion of the proceeds for each shirt will be donated to the Jim Johnson Melanoma Research Fund.
