Brian Westbrook hasn’t made his usual contributions this season but it looks like he may get another crack at it this Sunday against the 49ers. According to ProFootballTalk, the Eagles have released running back P.J. Hill and replaced him with tight end Martin Rucker. Dropping a running back could very well mean that Westbrook may be ready to make his return.
The big question is how Westbrook will be in his return. His return after his first concussion was cut short as he obtained a blow to the head and left the game with yet another concussion. If he does return, I’m not expecting him to see a ton of reps. I’d assume Andy will just want to ease him back in as a healthy Westbrook could pay off tremendously come playoff time. It’s not certain whether he’ll return on Sunday but early indications are looking good.
