Here we are again. A Week 17 match up with Dallas with a lot on the line for both teams. The Eagles needed to beat Dallas last year in order to make the playoffs and we all remember how that worked out. This year, the Eagles are already in the playoffs, but there is still a lot on the line.
A win Sunday means the Eagles earn the number two seed in the NFC and get a first round bye as well as a home game in the second round of the playoffs. If the Eagles lose, they will be forced to play a Wild Card game, and they will have to travel. That is a big difference so you can see how important an Eagles win on Sunday will be.
The Eagles travel to the new Cowboys Stadium for the first Sunday and it couldn’t be anymore of a grand opening for them. Dallas is playing pretty well right now and the Eagles are coming off six straight wins. It is going to be a battle between two hot teams, but the Eagles must stay hot and win this game. Home field advantage is huge in the playoffs and it would be nice to see the Eagles get to play at least one game at home.
Sunday’s game is huge for both teams, but when you saw the schedule at the beginning of the year I’m sure you had the feeling this game could mean a lot. Sure enough, it truly does.
