Now What Are We Supposed to Think?

Remember a couple of days ago when the Eagles were on a six game winning streak, had a chance to clinch the number two seed, had a chance to host at least one home game and maybe even the NFC Championship? Those days were nice, right? Yes, they were. Unfortunately, those days are over. The Cowboys checked us back into reality yesterday and checked us hard. Not only are we not getting a bye or playing at home, we have to go back to the same place we played our worst game of the season and find a way to win.

If I didn’t personally watch that game, there is no way that you could tell me the Eagles would lose to 24-0 and that I would believe you. There’s no way. However, we all know that is the ugly truth and have to digest it. But now, what are we supposed to think of this team? How can they turn around in a week’s time and beat the team that just destroyed them in every aspect of the game? It can’t be done, can it? Well the Eagles don’t have much choice here. If they don’t do it, the season is over with the exception of the six players named to the Pro Bowl.

Are we really going to lose to the Cowboys three times in one season? Could anything be worse than that? I don’t think so. So let’s hope Andy and his staff can the squad together and get them to shake off this terrible performance. If the Eagles play anything remotely close to the way they did yesterday, they might as well pack their bags now.

To look on the bright side of things, the Eagles have never lost their first playoff game under Andy Reid and the Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game in 13 years. Let’s hope history repeats itself.
