Can Michael Vick be the X-Factor on Saturday?

Just as it seemed the Eagles were really starting to figure out how to use Michael Vick, things started to go off track. In Atlanta, Vick suffered a hand injury that kept him from probably playing the entire fourth quarter at quarterback. A few weeks later, when Vick was still finding success, he received a bruised quadriceps and has yet to see the field since then. We thought he would make a return to the field last weekend, but it did not happen. However, this weekend is slated to be the definite return of Vick. Could he be the spark the Eagles offense needs to get going?

This may be the Cowboys third time playing the Eagles but they haven’t seen much Vick at all. He didn’t play last week and only had one carry in the first meeting earlier this year. This also occurred when the Eagles were still in the process of figuring the best situations for Vick to take the field. Since then, the quarterback has found much more success.

Our run game struggled a lot last week. Our offensive line was getting over powered. I think something that may help improve on this is being able to run the ball out of the spread offense with Vick. This forces the defense to spread out and opens more running lanes. Also, if they find success with this and can start making the defense think run first, they can open it up and throw the ball too. The possibilities are limitless with Vick and right now it seems the Eagles offense needs all the help it can get.

Saturday is potentially the last game of the season so there is no reason to hold anything back. Michael Vick will definitely see the field on Saturday, let’s hope good things come from it.
