Welcome to the Offseason

A new week is upon us and the Eagles Super Bowl hopes have been thrown out the window yet again. They failed to show any fight in a 34-14 loss to the Dallas Cowboys and embarrassed everyone who calls themselves an Eagles fan.

The Eagles will now watch the rest of the playoffs from home as the coaching staff tries to think of things they could have done differently in order to prevent this meltdown from occurring. I believe there were a lot of issues the past two weeks so the coaches shouldn’t have any trouble coming up with things that can be corrected.

There is still a little football left for some of the Eagles, as the Pro Bowlers will get to travel to Miami, although not to play in the game they hoped they’d be going there for. When Jason Peters made the Pro Bowl I was very surprised. After the past two weeks, I now know that I was surprised for a good reason. He definitely has not played at that Pro Bowl level these past two weeks. He committed dumb penalties and got absolutely worked by Demarcus Ware.

So now we begin the dreaded offseason. The Eagles have plenty of work to do this offseason if they want to stay competitive in the NFC East. It seems as though the division will be better all around next year, and you won’t be able to say the Eagles are the team to beat in the division going into next season.
