Posted in It seems that over the past couple of days that Michael Vick is trying to compete with Donovan McNabb in getting the most press about his status in Philadelphia. On the night that his show premiered on BET, we are now hearing the report that the Eagles have decided to keep Vick. Didn’t see that one coming, did ya? Well that is the report (keyword here is “report”).
The Eagles have a whole slew of options at the quarterback position and that’s not a real bad problem to have. You can easily argue that they have three quarterbacks on their roster right now that could be starters in the NFL. Vick came at a bargain price last season but is scheduled to make much more next year. This is why there is a strong belief that the Eagles will deal Vick to someone who intends to use him as a starting quarterback, rather than play the “wildcat” role.
There is discussion that the Eagles are doing this as a ploy to increase his trade value. Possible? Definitely. However, if I have a hard time buying this as a mere fan, I would think that organizations across the league would probably feel the same way.
Would the Eagles bring back all three quarterbacks next year? Who knows. I would hope not. They all want to start and are all capable of doing so. I’d like to see the Eagles shop around and assess their options. The team needs obvious help in other areas and trading one or more of the three quarterbacks would definitely help to head in that direction.

are you serious? there’s no way that philly is trading Vick after all he has accomplished this year.
