Kevin Kolb Will Be Under A Lot of Pressure

Over the past decade, this city has come to expect one thing from the Eagles: winning. They haven’t been able to win the “big one” but they’ve always been a contender.

Donovan McNabb was at the head of this winning regime for the past decade but has made his way down to DC now. His heir, Kevin Kolb, has been thrust into the spotlight and will have immediate winning expectations from the city that has gotten so used to it. Kolb will be under a lot of pressure to meet these expectations.

No one in Philadelphia will openly welcome a losing season from this team, even if they have seen a lot of changes recently. Andy Reid and the rest of his staff have done a pretty good job of filtering in young talent so that there aren’t any dreaded rebuilding years. If the dreaded rebuilding term was going to be used at any point, now would probably be the time it would start to come up.

However, Kolb has the opportunity to keep this team away from the word and allow the Eagles to continue their success. He has endless offensive weapons around him and will have the task of putting the ball in their hands so they can make plays. There is enough talent on this offense where they should be able to make Kolb’s job “easy.”

While having all these weapons is definitely a huge plus, it can also be negative for Kolb if he isn’t successful. If this offense isn’t performing at a high level, Kolb will automatically take the fall. With the weapons they have, there’s not a whole lot of excuses for failure. Sure, if the line is horrible it will be hard to get a lot done, but if they play at a decent level, Kolb will have no excuse.

Kolb is about to become the leader of a team with one of the most demanding fanbase’s in all of sports. He will be under a lot of pressure. Hopefully, he is is ready for the challenge.
