C Jackson Getting Better, Hopes to be Back for Opener

Center Jamaal Jackson seems to be getting better, and says that he feels he’ll be ready to go for the start of the regular season:

If you watched the Eagles preseason game Friday night against the Cincinnati Bengals, you saw an offensive line that was pretty horrific and part of the reason for that is having some backups in there. Specifically, the center position is a mess since Jamaal Jackson went down with a torn ACL against Denver last year. Nick Cole was bad and Mike McGlynn is relatively ineffective (although he is supposed to be a guard) but there could be good news coming.

Jackson was out there with the one’s today at the NovaCare Complex and he says he’s feeling pretty good. “Went real good,” Jackson said, per Rueben Frank of “Just going out there and actually having people run at you and blocking them, that was a big step for me. I was encouraged. Hopefully, I keep doing more and more and keep progressing.” Is there any way you could do everyone a huge favor and be ready for Week 1? “I’m optimistic about it,” he said. “I would bet on myself.”
