You Wanted Michael Vick? You Got Michael Vick

Since Donovan McNabb was traded and Kevin Kolb was named the starter, people having been asking what about Michael Vick? How can you have a guy who has proven himself as a winner sitting on your bench behind a guy who’s started two games?

The questions haven’t mounted throughout the offseason, and now the mound is getting even bigger. Kolb didn’t play very well in his limited time against the Packers, while Vick showed flashes of greatness. So now everyone thinks we have a quarterback controversy.

Head coach Andy Reid brushed off that topic, saying that Kolb will remain the starter. However, Kolb will not be the starter this week. This isn’t because Reid wasn’t telling the truth. Rather, Kolb is unable to play due to the concussion he sustained last week.

So it seems that many Eagles fans are going to be granted their wish. Vick will start a regular season game for the first time since 2006 with the Falcons. He will get the chance to play the entire game, rather than roughly one half. He’ll also have the opportunity to prove that everyone who said that he looked like the Michael Vick of old were correct.

Not only that, but most importantly, he’ll get to throw more fuel on the quarterback controversy fire.

Things won’t be as easy this time around for Vick. The Lions are able to prepare for him as the every down quarterback, rather than a wildcat option. This time around, he’ll be given an even score to work with. He won’t need to engineer a comeback right out of the gate, and he won’t face a defense on its heels because of a point cushion.

This game should be more difficult for Vick, but if he can play like he did last week, its a big step in the right direction for the play-maker.

All eyes will be on Vick come Sunday. For those who wanted him, you got him.

Finally some one can understand the importance of Vick. A lot of people bag on my about being a Vick fan when he is probaly better than he ever was right now….leaving on this note all I have to say is that Vick needs to show himself up this coming week against the Lions to earn a starting position.

There’s no doubt that Vick can do the job, Kolb was never the answer, and watch this week, Vick will prove he should have been the starter all along!

  3. Phil says:

If Vick is anything like what has was last week we should handle the Lions without much trouble. We only lost last week because the Packers have a nasty offense, the Lions do not. This game will be important as Vick will now have a good chance to prove himself.

i think the eagles should start kolb for the first drive if he messses up vick should get in and from there and reid should determain who will play for the rest of the game but in my opnion i think vick should start and tim mcabe likes the worst team in the world patriots suckkk

Vick should be the starter, look how he preformed the last two weeks. If it weren’t for Vick eagles would have gotten destroyed week one, but being the estatic player he is they started to make a comeback. Vick is the starter hands down.

  6. STEVE says:

I believe that Vick should start, because he is definitely a better QB than Kolb. The Eagles would be better off of having him start, and they would probably win more games. I mean whats the point on having a great QB like him, and not starting him.
