Reid having to face another question mark at the QB spot for Eagles

Eagles coach Andy Reid is ready to be faced with another quandary at the quarterback spot. Does he give the starting spot back to Michael Vick, who was out with injured ribs, or stick with Kevin Kolb, who has led the team to two straight wins?

Sunday Kolb did nothing to make that decision any easier, as he stepped in and led the team to a 31-17 win over a team many feel is the best in the NFC – the Atlanta Falcons.

All Kolb did was throw for 326 yards on 23-for-29 passing with three touchdowns and one pick with a QB rating of 133.6. Over the past two games, Kolb has thrown for 579 yards, four TD’s and one pick while the team has topped both the Niners and now Falcons.

Reid per usual pushed aside the question about what he is going to do with the teams QB spot, but seems to feel it’s a good position to be in.

“When you’re sitting here as a chubby head coach in the National Football League, and you have two good quarterbacks, you’re a happy guy,” said Reid, who noted that Vick is still the starter. “You take Michael Kolb and we go play, baby. That’s what I get paid to do. That’s what I do.”

Vick adds a dimension to the offense that Kolb does not, but Kolb isn’t the risk taker that Vick is, therefore is more likely to stay healthy – longer. In a league where things can change in a heartbeat, most coaches are inclined to stay with the hot hand, so here’s a vote for Reid to stick with Kolb as long as he’s playing like he did on Sunday.

In the two wins before getting hurt, Vick was 38-for-65 for 575 yards with five touchdowns. But now he’s back on the bench, and if Reid does the right thing, that’s where he will stay till Kolb works his way back to sitting with at least one or two bad outings.
