Vick Among Five Eagles Picked for the Pro Bowl

Michael Vick started the season as the Eagles backup QB, and now he’s headed to Hawaii as part of the NFC Pro Bowl roster as the NFC starting QB. “I think it’s just a credit to everything I’ve tried to accomplish on and off the field, just working as hard as I can to change things around, be a part of the solution and not the problem,” Vick said.

Vick makes it as one of five Eagles picked to play on the team at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. Receiver DeSean Jackson, cornerback Asante Samuel, tackle Jason Peters and kicker David Akers also were selected. If the Eagles reach the Super Bowl, then they will not attend.

Vick, Samuel, Peters and Akers are starters (although there is no backup kicker). Defensive end Trent Cole, guard Todd Herremans and running back LeSean McCoy are first alternates. Fullback Owen Schmitt and safety Quintin Mikell are second alternates.
