Vikings vs Eagles: Minnesota Pulls The Upset and Philadelphia Takes The Loss

Who would have guessed? Who would have thought that a rookie QB on the Vikings would be able to outperform and eventually end up beating the red hot, and explosive Eagles team? Who would have predicted that the Eagles rocking passing attack would be totally shut down by this injured Vikings secondary? Who would have guessed that the Vikings would have beat the Eagles at home?

No one.

This was surprising as an Eagles fan. I was shocked at how poorly the Eagles performed against a team that they should have been able to beat relatively easily, especially when they are playing the game at home. There was almost nothing that I saw that would show that the Eagles are division winners, and nothing that showed that they are a Playoff caliber team.

The Eagles have now lost their chance at a first round bye, and they are going to stay as the number three seed. I’m not sure what caused the Eagles offense to just suddenly collapse and turn the ball over and fail to score, but it needs to change in the next week. If the Eagles come into their first postseason game playing like that, they will be one and done almost instantly. Not to mention the fact that the Michael Vick now is completely out of the MVP race. Congratulations Tom Brady, we all still hate you.

I give all the credit in the world to Joe Webb, as in his first career start he was able to beat a Playoff team. In their home. This guy is going to be a great future QB, and the best part was that he did not turn the ball over once the entire game. Even better, he outperformed Vick. This may solve a lot of problems in Minnesota and I think that this is a great step in the right direction for the entire franchise.

The Eagles defense was terrible. They gave up big pass plays from Webb, and they also had enough flags thrown on them to sink a ship. Not to mention the fact that Adrian Peterson was able to rush for over 100 yards and also cap off the game with a late touchdown rush. This is painful. The defense was non-exsistent. This is another Eagles performance that will lead to a one and done in the postseason if this does not change next week.

Vikings win in Philly, 24-14.
