Packers Coach Darren Perry Not the Eagles Choice for Defensive Coordinator

Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com reports a high-ranking NFL official with knowledge of the Eagles’ thinking said over the weekend that Packers’ secondary coach Darren Perry is not atop the Eagles’ wish list and said that although the Eagles like Perry and may very well interview him, he is not the mystery assistant coach head coach Andy Reid and general manager Howie Roseman covet.

It’s been 15 days now since Reid fired Sean McDermott after just two years as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator.

Reid has not commented on McDermott’s dismissal or the departures of defensive line coach Rory Segrest and linebackers coach Bill Shuey.

So far, the only candidate the Eagles have flown into Philadelphia for an interview is former Saints secondary coach Dennis Allen, who they met with last Sunday. Allen left town without an offer and accepted the same position with the Broncos on Tuesday.
