Patterson’s Contract Won’t Void States Report

Adam Caplan of reports former Redskins salary cap analyst J.J. Halsell via his Twitter account that Eagles starting DT Mike Patterson’s contract would void because he had language in his deal that said if 2011 is not the final capped year (which it’s not, 2009 was), then 2011-2016 would void. However, when contacted by, a team source said there’s no truth to the report.

“No, flat out wrong,” the source said about Patterson’s contract voiding.

    The entire contract won’t void. Just the “Likely To Be Earned” clauses in his contract.
