Philadelphia Eagles Select Greg Loyd In The Seventh Round Of The 2011 NFL Draft

The Eagles Seventh Round Selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Greg Loyd

With the Eagles second to last pick (No. 237 Overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft, Philadelphia has selected, Greg Loyd, defensive end, from Connecticut. This is a bit surprising that the Eagles looked defensive end this late, considering that it was one of their more pressing needs. But, better late than never, and there have been other seventh round hero’s in Philadelphia.

Loyd had a good senior season at Connecticut finishing second on the team in tackles with 91 tackles, three for a loss, and one sack. Standing at 6’1″, and 246, he is a big lineman with a lot of power. Even though Loyd shows good explosiveness off of the line and decent speed around the edge, he will more than likely be placed on the practice squad.

The Eagles have one pick remaining in the 2011 NFL Draft.
