Where Did All the Excitement Go?

By Chris DeSantis

I am not sure how you all felt watching the game. But I kept waiting for something BIG to happen. I expected a play action pass 60 yards down field to DeSean for one of his signature Touch Downs.

I kept waiting for Mike Vick to throw a laser down the sideline to Jeremy Maclin. Or, how about a pick six from Asante? None of the fore mention scenarios happened. Jackson did score on a toss from Vick which was pretty, but however there were no huge bombs we’ve come accustomed to seeing. I was a bit disappointed. Yes we did win. Check! Got it! However, where was the excitement? I think EXCITEMENT is what was missing from the game. I know I’ve become spoiled, and in fact Shady did break a big one for a TD.

He was THE bright spot for the Offense. But, I still wasn’t feeling it! Honestly, the Eagles just didn’t look that great, or should I say “Dreamy”! If Steven Jackson didn’t get hurt, what do you think would of happened? Do you honestly think Casey Matthews could of taken him down? Doubt it! Jackson weighs about the same as our Young Middle Linebacker. I think Jackson would of dragged him and our whole linebacking corps all over the field while he plowed forward for 7 yard chunks. ALA John Riggins!

We also caught a break when Sam Bradford fumbled and Juqua Parker returned it for a TD. Things did go our way Eagle fans so I guess I should put a sock in it, and enjoy the victory! But if we want to keep this bus chugging toward Indianapolis, location of Super Bowl XLVI. Then starting Sunday Night in Atlanta, the Igles need to pop the Dirty Birds in the mouth early and often. Maybe come out on the first drive, and say throw a play action strike down the field for an Action Jackson Touch Down?? Now that’s what I would call Excitement!
