Eagles head coach Andy Reid says QB Michael Vick went through walkthrough on Wednesday

#7 is inching closer to playing in the Eagles’ home opener on Sunday against the Giants.

The team has not practiced, nor revealed their Wednesday injury report yet, but they received a promising gift when quarterback Michael Vick hit the practice field this morning, just three days after suffering a concussion in Atlanta.

“He went through the walkthrough this morning,” Eagles head coach Andy Reid said in a conference call with reporters for the Giants, the Eagles’ opponent Sunday.

“He is feeling good and has to just go through the process.”

Ongoing medical examinations will decide whether or not Vick is cleared to practice and if he sees action in Sunday’s home opener at Lincoln Financial Field.

“The process is the process,” said Reid. “If he makes it through that, then he’s okay to play.”

“He’s right at his baseline. I just want him to do a little bit better on it,” said the club’s head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder, who added more testing will be done after Vick performs activities such as riding an exercise bike, lifting weights and balancing.

Vince Young update: “We’re just going to see how he does here this week,” according to coach Reid.

Wide receiver Riley Cooper on Vick: “He looked good, looked like Mike.”

Let’s hope Mike will have the opportunity to “look like Mike” this Sunday.
