Finger on throwing hand of Eagles QB Vick: “popped out of place”

“I heard Steve Young, a couple of weeks ago mention when he played it was a sense that came over him and the sense was: ‘Over my dead body, I will not lose this game, I will not let this guy in front of me beat me,’ ” Eagles quarterback Michael Vick said.

“It’s just that ‘over my dead body’ perspective you have to take.”

As much media attention as Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo gets for being tough, how about #7 getting the same love?

Is it all we ever see and notice about Vick, the runs he makes and the flashy, highlight-reel plays? Our perception of Vick needs to change because he’s more than just a sensational quarterback – he’s a warrior, who wants to win.

Tim McManus of Phillysportsdaily.com reports Michael Vick, who threw for a career-high 416 yards against the 49ers, said the middle finger in his throwing hand “popped out of place” in the first half.

The Virgina Tech alum was not listed on Andy Reid’s injury report.

“I was just determined to finish the game, regardless of how I had to do it” said the team’s competitive leader. “And I did it. I wish the outcome could have been a little bit different but it is what it is.”

Just more evidence that Vick is more than just an electrifying, super-skilled signal caller – he’s a fighter.

So, after Sunday’s gutsy performance against the 49ers, have your views on Vick as a quarterback been altered?
