Washinton Running Back Tim Hightower Claims: ‘Eagles No More Dangerous Than Redskins’

Tim Hightower #39, Running Back, Washington Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles will be heading to Washington on Sunday to take on the Redskins in a much anticipated brawl for both teams, and a game that could have playoff implications down the line. However, Philadelphia is in quite a different situation than Washington, as the Eagles are at the bottom of the division at (1-4) and the Redskins at the top at (3-1).

Despite having a worse record, the Eagles are still being touted as the more talented team, but evidently Tim Hightower does not feel the same way. Dropping this line to reporters follow a Redskins’ team practice,

They’re dangerous and so are we. They’re 1-4, we’re 3-1. We’re on top of the division and we control that. It’s a must-win game for us and a must-win game for them. I know it’s a different set of scenarios when you look at their record, but it’s a must-win game.

I understand the Redskins are filled with confidence, considering they are leading an often competitive NFC East, and that they have had an excellent start to the season. But these are big words for a running back who was yet to play the Eagles in a divisional game in his career, and someone who doesn’t understand what this rivalry means to both cities.

If the NFC viewed the Redskins as a ‘dangerous’ threat, they would be receiving much more attention than what they are currently getting. Trust me — I am impressed with the Skins’ thus far, and they really do look much better than they did last season. But I hate to break Hightower’s dreams, but he is still in Washington, and the Eagles are still the Eagles.

We’ll see you on Sunday, Tim.
