Eagles May Shut Brandon Graham Down For Season

Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham opened the 2011 season on the physically unable to perform list after undergoing microfracture surgery last December. Since being added to the 53-man roster, Graham has three tackles in two games, but has been inactive or has not played in the last four games.

With the Eagles not headed for the post-season, could be shut down for 2012.

“I figure, it’s three games, four games left, they want me for the long haul, so it’s probably like – next year,” Graham said according to Jonathan Tamari of the Philadelphia Daily News. “If I make it to the playoffs, I’m sure I’ll play then, but right now, I just see that they’ll probably say that there’s not a point even for him to get out there.”

The 13th overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Michigan, Graham started six of 13 games as a rookie, totaling 13 tackles with three quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles. Graham signed a five-year contract with $13.552 million in guaranteed money, which currently includes Graham’s base salaries from 2012-14.
