Eagles Ink Free Agent QB Trent Edwards

Free agent quarterback Trent Edwards will sign a one-year contract with the Eagles, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A third-round pick out of Stanford by the Bills in 2007, Edwards has started 32 of the 37 games he’s appeared in for the Bills (2007-10) and Jaguars (2010). Edwards has completed 60.5 percent of 927 pass attempts for 6,019 yards with 26 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

Edwards went to training camp with the Oakland Raiders, but was released as part of the final roster cuts and spent 2011 as a street free agent. Edwards paid visits to the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans during the season and met with the Eagles on January 17 and January 31.
