Eagles Ink WR Jackson to Five-Year Deal

After all the issues off the field and on with him last season, the Eagles today sacked up and gave WR DeSean Jackson a deal for five years at $48.5 million.

“We are thrilled to be able to keep one of the NFL’s top playmakers in Philadelphia,” Eagles head coach Andy Reid said on the signing.

“DeSean is a game breaker, he has the speed and ability to score from anywhere on the field, and he has proven himself to be a big threat for our offense. Signing our own players was a big priority for us this offseason and DeSean was certainly high on our list. We are very excited about his future as an Eagle.”

The 25-year-old held out for a new contract in training camp, was deactivated for a game for disciplinary reasons and his production slipped. He inished the season with 58 catches, 961 yards and four touchdowns.
