Former Oregon Duck Stand-Out Cliff Harris Making Waves at Training Camp

Welcome, Cliff.

The Philadelphia Eagles have continued to be in a giving mood.

Philly has decided once again to give yet another player a second chance, this time being former All-American and Oregon Duck corner, Cliff Harris. There were rumors that before Harris’ quick fall from grace that he had the potential to be one of the top corners in the draft, but following a rash of underage drinking, speeding tickets and marijuana possessions, he found himself quickly unemployed. That includes being kicked-out of Oregon, and also going un-drafted this past year.

However, the Eagles being the kings of redemption have decided to roll the dice on the kid. And evidently, it’s paying off.

Thus far into training camp, Harris has impressed fellow rookie teammates and also Andy Reid with his play in practice. He has only played against other rookies, but his performance has been admirable given the circumstance.

If Harris does end up making the roster, he will be an add-on to an already killer secondary. With a full off-season, Nnamdi Asomugha is expected to do great things and DRC is finally getting his shot at the starting job. Beyond that, Philly is stacked with new draftee Brandon Boykin, Curtis Marsh and now Harris. The only area of concern is the current safeties, who will remain the same from last season.

Philadelphia has seemingly become a place where players who have dropped the ball can go to resurrect their careers, and Harris is no exception. Both for him, and the Eagles, let’s hope things work out.
