Eagles to Bring Back OL Steve Vallos, Put Kelce on Short-Term IR

The Eagles are re-signing veteran offensive lineman Steve Vallos, who spent the offseason and preseason with the team, and will likely place injured center Jason Kelce on the new short-term Injured Reserve list.

Kelce, who has started all 18 games at center since the start of his rookie season, suffered an MCL tear and partial ACL tear during the third quarter of the Eagles’ win over the Ravens Sunday.

Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said on Monday the Eagles haven’t yet ruled out Kelce for the rest of the season, despite the extent of damage in his knee. He said Kelce will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on Tuesday to learn the extent of the partial ACL tear and determine whether he’ll have a chance to play later in the year without surgery.
