Eagles Draft Bennie Logan In 3rd Round

The Eagles drafted LSU defensive lineman Bennie Logan with the 67th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. At 6’2″, 309 pounds, Logan didn’t excel in any one area, but was a well-rounded player and a key piece along LSU’s vaunted defensive front. His best fit in the Eagles’ 3-4 defense appears to be at end, where he will battle Cedric Thornton for snaps across from Fletcher Cox. At LSU, Logan wore #18, which the team awards to a player who exemplifies exceptional leadership qualities and intangibles. The Eagles are getting a high character player with the physical tools to compete in all areas at the next level. Without great natural strength or athleticism, though, his upside is somewhat limited. The Eagles needed to add tough, SEC-type players to their defensive front, and Logan makes sense.
