Eagles Pick TE Zach Ertz In Round 2

The Eagles selected tight end Zach Ertz with the 35th overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft. The Stanford product was a consensus 1st-team All-American last season, catching 69 passes for 898 yards and 6 scores as the Cardinal’s go-to option in the passing game. He helped power his team to victory over Chip Kelly’s Ducks with a remarkable touchdown catch last year.

At 6’5″, 249 pounds, Ertz ran a 4.76 second 40-yard-dash and is known as an crafty route runner with spectacular hands. He’s not the strongest, most explosive, or most physical prospect at his position, and will have to battle Brent Celek and James Casey for snaps. Chip Kelly was rumored to be searching for tight ends, and he landed one early.
