Chip Kelly has tipped his hand for the first time. Advantage Vick. While Kelly hasn’t publicly anointed Vick as the starter, it would be perfectly understandable for him to do so. ESPN’s Adam Caplan said Saturday’s practice was “the first time we’ve seen the clear delineation between Vick and Foles with first and second team.”

The news is noteworthy simply because of how tight-lipped Kelly has been about his quarterback battle. Given that Vick’s play justifies him winning the job, it’s likely that Kelly is just about wrapping up the competition. Or, given how much he likes to toy with the media, he might be messing around. We’re talking about Chip Kelly here, and it’ll be a while before the media, the fans, or NFL defenses figure him out.
