Eagles Hire Bill Musgrave As New QB Coach

Bill Musgrave

The Eagles have hired ex-Vikings offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave to be their new quarterbacks coach according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.

This will be Musgraves’ second stint on the Eagles coaching staff, albeit his first under head coach Chip Kelly. Musgrave was an assistant coach with the Eagles in 1998.

His most recent stint with the Vikings OC from 2011 to 2013 was less than impressive, as the team was unable to develop Christian Ponder as a legitimate starting QB, struggled to find ways to use the mega-talented Percy Harvin, and did very little to get rookie phenom WR Cordarelle Patterson involved in the game plan until the season was already a lost cause.

Musgrave will replace Bill Lazor, who left the Eagles to become the offensive coordinator of the Dolphins.
