Eagles Fire Coach Chip Kelly with One Game Left in 2015 Season

The first shocker of the Eagles offseason took place on Tuesday, and it’s not even the true offseason yet.

Three days after losing to the Washington Redskins at home to end their hopes of the postseason, the club has announced they have fired coach Chip Kelly.

In a statement, team Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said, “We appreciate all the contributions that Chip Kelly made and wish him every success going forward.”

Coach Pat Shurmur will be interim head coach for Sunday’s game against the Giants. VP of player personnel Ed Marynowitz was also released.
