NFL Week Two: Can the Eagles Get Their Wings Back Against the Rams?

Last week the Eagles were stunned in their opening day lid lifter against the Washington Football Team in D.C.

They had a lead most of the day before suddenly Washington’s defense lowered the boom on Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense, and by the time it was over the Eagles were 0-1.

This week at home the Rams, who were the NFC Champs two years ago, are in town for the Eagles home opener, and Philadelphia will be hard pressed to be as bad as they were in the last 18-20 minutes against Washington.

BetQL has all the picks for the this year’s NFL season whether you looking for picks against the spread, moneyline, or NFL over under picks BetQL has you covered.

The Eagles are a slight home favorite against the Rams. Here’s a couple keys for the Eagles to get to 1-1.

1. Keep Aaron Darnold in Check

The Rams have one of the most impressive defensive players in the league in Aaron Darnold, who can make it a very long day for Wentz and the Eagles offesne.

It may be a double team, or just a chip block, but at the end of the day the Eagles offensive line has to keep Wentz upright and can’t let Darnold and that Rams D-line to start to dominate.

If Wentz takes some hits from Darnold and company, it will make for a long day.

2. Get Sanders Going

Miles Sanders didn’t play in the week one loss to Washington, and this week he’s had a full week of practice and he’s ready to get a full load at the running back spot.

Sanders is expected to be a big part of the Eagles offense in 2020, and not having him last week very much hurt the offense.

Look for Doug Pederson to feed Sanders the ball often early in the game.

3. Get to Goff

Just like the offensive line for the Eagles keeping Carson Wentz upright is a key, it’s the same for the Rams when it comes to quarterback Jared Goff.

Goff is a rhythm quarterback who loves to play within the system that Sean McVay puts in front of him, and he’s very good at getting the ball to his receivers downfield often.

Look for the Eagles to try and throw multiple blitz packages at Goff and the Rams offense on Sunday, and try to disrupt that rhythm that the QB wants badly to get going.

It should be a fun chess match.

Prediction: The Eagles can’t afford an 0-2 start, and the Rams want badly to forget about 2019 and get to 2-0 on the road. Look for these two clubs to both play desperate, as they both really want to walk out of Philly with a win. The Eagles will play just a bit better, and get a much needed win. Eagles 22 Rams 20
